Just wanted to give a big shout out to all those who came out to support me and my artwork at Wizard World Philadelphia! Or as I like to say, "From red heads to web heads!" Words cannot express how grateful I am. To work on commissions throughout the entire weekend, to selling prints to so many, to WWE Superstar Sheamus stopping and grabbing a Venom print off me (still fanboying out here. He is absolutely one of my favorites of the modern era of wrestling), to even Scarlet Spider himself grabbing a self portrait I did of him. And. To all the other Scarlet Spiders who came out and bought a Ben Reilly print! It makes me so happy to see how they said it's how he should be drawn (Hey Marvel. I know a creative team that would do him justice. And they run the Neon Nerds Podcast). And I am truly humbled by all those who said I was the best artist there. What an amazing and geeky and fun and busy weekend. Thank you all!
Hello Everyone! With one of the busiest weekends ever, I just wanted to thank the Camden Comic Con for having me and what a wonderful experience it was! I cannot thank everyone who came out and supported my art. Whether it be buying and scooping up some prints or ordering a pre show commission or even ordering a commission there at the show! It's always such and honor.
I also treated myself at the convention. I met one my personal heroes. The creator of Gambit himself, Mr. Chris Claremont. He was awesome enough to sign the sketch cover of Gambit that I did for myself and he told me I draw a great Gambit. I could have fainted.
Also, a huge thank you to Bill Haas and Miranda Powell who run the show and the panels. There is no greater convention in the tri sate area! and my brother from another mother, Ryan Brady and I killed it at our Making Comics Panel. What an awesome time we had. And for those who didn't make it, I will be posting my appearances soon!
But for now, here is a look at some pre show commissions and Pics from the show.
Hello ladies and gents!
Long time no see. Well. Maybe see. But definitely a long time. I am getting back into the swing of things here as convention season is around the corner! I have been on a bit of a break as I was a teaching artist for Rutgers University from February to March. And still being able to push out a ton of commissions and starting on some new prints...speaking of which...the debut of Iron Fist and Power Man this Saturday at the Camden Comic Con! As well as Venom and Black Panther! Iron Fist, as you all might know, is one of my favorite comic characters ever. Top 3 in fact. So it was awesome that so many have requested him and here he is!
Tomorrow I will be posting details of my raffle for a Deadpool! So much more on the horizon!
Hello ladies and gents!
I hope all have been doing well. Once again, big things are on the horizon! My commissions list is off the charts and I am still getting through them! Thank you so much for your love and support and patience! I figured from here on out, I will be posting some in progress shots and updates about cons and upcoming work for a marvelous comic book company! So for your viewing pleasure, here is a look at this upcoming Magik commission I am working on! It's an absolute pleasure to draw an X-Men character. And especially a character that I have always liked and never got to draw before. I like to think it's a warm up to a future gig. ;)
Till next time!
Hello once again ladies and gentlemen! I hope you all had a great holiday season and that 2016 is just as happy and prosperous!
Currently I have been getting back into the swing of things as I have finished up the rest of my commissions and am going to be back once again on the convention trail! I have the Lehigh Valley Comic Con, Camden Comic Con, Wizard World Philly, Free Comic Book Day, and a whole bunch of other dates TBA sooner rather than later of 2016. So if you are looking for commissions, feel free to contact me anytime! Because slots usually fill up fast and are normally filled during the first days of convention season.
So what has been going on as of late, well, I have been working on a weekly podcast with my good friend and fellow comic book writer and illustrator, Ryan Brady. The name is the Neon Nerds Podcast and together we talk about great comics in the 90s as well as building our own creator owned comic book series called, "The Revengers!" Here is a design for episode 4 of the podcast done by yours truly.
I look forward to hearing from you all!
Today is a very special day today! In the Delaware area? Well come on out to Thy Geekdom Con!
I'm welcoming all to join me at my Shatner's MAN O' WAR artist Philip McNulty Panel presented by Train Wreck Gaming Podcast from 12-12:50 on Stage 1! There will be a special giveaway for one special attendee at the panel! It is also a villains takeover at my table where I introduce new villains to my prints collection! Maybe they might just go hand-in-hand.... So come down and join the fun as me and my buds from Trainwreck rock the house.
Hello again, ladies and gentlemen!
The past couple weeks have been very busy for me as I was contacted to do some hand colored pieces for an art gallery in Toms River, NJ as well as the normal commissions load. Which first, I have to give a big shout out to all those who continue to show their love and support by commissioning me to draw their favorite characters and their ideas. No matter how many years I have been doing this, it's still as humbling as the first time. Another shout out to my mom who just recently celebrated her 60th birthday. So happy birthday to the woman who gave birth to me and the woman who has always been there from the beginning. I love you, Mom.
So above is some recent Copic marker hand colored works that. The Spider-Man, Batman, and Green Arrow 9x12s are fully finished and will be on sale after their time in the gallery and the Batman 11x14 is a commission that founds it's home all the way across the globe to Australia. And for process nerds like myself, I have some works in progress like the 11x14 Superman and a step by step look at the 11x14 Batman. Later on in the week, I will be posting my next appearance at Thy Geekdom Con in Claymont, Delaware this Saturday!
So stay tuned and excelsior!
Hello ladies and gents! I know it's been a while since I lasted posted, but with some very exciting news on the horizon and commissions coming in at an all time high, it's definitely had me behind the drawing table more than behind the computer. But no fear! I plan on making sure I update this place at least once a week with posts of works in progress, random musings, and where my next appearances are.
But as you can tell by the title of this post, Sketch Covers have been finding their way to me for commissions and I have been a complete blast with them. I have been commissioned from some great folks over the past couple months and even the great Stan Lee! Once he saw my work, his assistant handed me a Wolverine blank sketch (pictured above) and said, "Stan would love your take on Wolverine." I was also fortunate enough to be commissioned by "The Man" himself to do even more sketch covers! Those covers included commissions of Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Cable, Mystique, and Carnage. And by doing all these, I was soon introduced to Copic markers and was able to create a Gambit sketch cover (pictured above) and now I'm hooked on Copics. Even bought a deck of cards to do a limited run of Gambit covers. You name the card, and I'll supply the art. So if interested in getting a sketch cover, head on over to my commissions page for the the info.
So with all that, I am glad to be back. Thank you for all your love and support! And stay tuned.
Now officially live on iTunes! William Shatner's Shatner's MAN O' WAR! I encourage everyone to support the first season of a new way to experience comics! Please leave a 5 star review as we make a big push for season two in October! And personally, my favorite Chapter is 6 "Attack in the Airless Sea." I think it is my best work yet! So please buy a chapter or even buy the whole thing! You can't beat 8 chapter of over 80 minutes of a Cinematic Graphic Novel! Here is the link!
It's that time of year again! Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con! I am at Artist Alley Table C 42 (Across from Danny Trejo, Allen Iverson, and the WWE) all weekend long! So stop by, grab some art, talk some comics, and have a great time! Debuting new prints from last year, as well as their very first showing of Spider-Gwen and Hawkman!
I look forward to seeing you and meeting you all!

It started at the age of 3, while illustrating an amalgamation of a man and a spider swinging on the back of an uncolored page from a coloring book. Since then, Philip McNulty has been bringing his 90's comic influence through outlets such as William Shatner's Man O War, Kevin Smith's SModCo. Cartoon show, and Marvel's X-Men.
